When something happens that is truly unexpected it, what is the normal reaction?
After ending a relationship I thought would somehow withstand everything, I sat back and thought about this thing called love. I hate starting over, I hate dating. I mean who wants to going around kissing all these frogs to find a prince? Maybe, in a fairytale but we are in real life, so it’s never that simple.
I’ve always heard that when you’re not looking, something finds you. I’m starting to think this is true. So let me update you guys on what has been going on in my life, regarding relationships. After word got out that I was single I had some of the “usual suspects” hit me up, basically wanting the cheeks. Now to be quite honest, I wanted some wang. But I cautioned this because I don’t wanna rebound and I didn’t want a buddy or friends with benefits. When you grow up you have to think before you act, because acting before thinking can get you caught up when your not really mentally there.
I activated my POF profile and browsed around to see about these fish in the sea. That site is amusing. Most of the guys have the same lines, but some actually seem to be cool. I got a few messages and shortly uninstalled the app from my phone. I just wasn’t feeling it, I really can’t pin point why. Anyways, I figured I would focus on my goals that I wanted to achieve, things with my podcast, life and kids.
A few weeks back my son was having issues with sleeping and of course I was on FB. Doing a bunch of nothing and then I decided to chat via inbox with a friend. He is a handsome man who seems to have a good head on his shoulders. We never really flirted so it was innocent conversations at random moments. Long story short, we decided to finally meet each other after having multiple conversation without actually meeting in person. During the visit it was brought to my attention that he liked me. I was surprised because there was no indication and at one point I tried to play match maker with him and my bestie. He was seeing someone at the time, so that didn’t work. But he informed me that even though he was seeing someone he liked me, so he wouldn’t attempt to date her.
After all that was revealed he asked me out on a date. I thought about it and said sure why not. I need time away from my crew and it would be cool. First date, went great nothing seemed forced. It seemed like we clicked in a way that it was as if we had been dating for a while. Second date, even better… third date was V Day… another great date. He is a true gentleman and that isn’t something I’m used to. We talk about any and everything, so that is good. I don’t know where this is going but I’m gonna enjoy this ride.
Talk about enjoying the moment with your eyes wide open! This is great. After all, we will never know what is out there if we don’t take a step outside. 🙂
